Thanks for the video’s Tizzie, what a great idea. Its great to see it in practice rather than just reading it. It was lovely to see the boys as well.

Its great to see a technique in action as it is so easy to second guess what you are doing during those challenging moments!
I can’t wait to try this out with my very curious 1 yr old. Fingers crossed:)

Thank u Tizzie. I have twins though so it works well with one but not when they r both up to tricks. Any tips?

  9. Tizzie says:

Hi Nicky you need to choose one child at a time to use the holding technique with. If the other is intentionally going to get into mischief while you working on setting a boundary with the other one you might need to pop the ‘other’ one in a playpen or portacot with some toys while you work on the holding technique with the other toddler! Good luck and congratulations on having twins!

    Hi Tizzie

All your advice is so good, but this is such a teaser(!) – am desperate for your toddler book as my 26 month old has just started to get quite pushy with friends (even though he’s tiny!) and I need to nip it in the bud! Please can you clarify the differences (if tehre are any) between the “save our sleep: Toddler” book on this website and the “How to raise a happy toddler” book that I have seen available for pre-order on a UK site? (Am in UK).

Many thanks for the stunning advice in Save our Sleep that now has my 7 month old sleeping (almost) perfectly practically one day of your routines and advice, allowing me time for my wonderful (though testing) little boy! And for helping me regain some of my sanity!!! Any tips on how to make daddy sit and read the books rather than watch re-runs of Friends?!?!?! lol!

    Hi Natasha:

Thank you for your lovely feedback. I am so pleased to hear you are doing so well following my baby book and routines.

The Toddler book ‘Save Our Sleep’ Toddler and ‘How to raise a Happy Toddler’ are basically exactly the same. ‘How to raise a Happy Toddler’ has just been renamed and has a different cover for the UK market. It has has just some terminology changes of things that are different in UK to what they are in Australia but the basic information is identical. ‘How to raise a Happy Toddler’ is not due for release until mid 2011 in the UK so if you were looking for the Toddler book now you can purchase the Australian version and we can send it over to you.

In regards to your husband, not sure I can help there – perhaps put a copy in the toilet? I have heard another client who had success in getting her husband to read the book that way – think she had to remove all his racing magazines first though :)

    Hi Tizzie,

Thank you so much for posting this holding technique, it is so great to see it in practice. It is working so well with my one year old.

My 1 year old has been on your routines since 7 weeks of age and they have worked from day one of using them.

I am looking to get the toddler book but would love to by an electronic version for my ipad. Any updates if and when this might be available for download?

    Cheers

Is it possible to post the video for the holding technique for no again….I need a refresher! My 10mth old is obsessed with power points, pulling the covers off and sticking things into them!
    Thanks

    Hi!!!

I really just wanted to say thankyou. Your Save our Sleep book has given my whole family our lives back! It was like overnight our little 6 month old changed. She is so happy settled and content. The first day I put her on your routine she slept through from her dream feed till 7am just like you said! I can’t believe it! Her older sister is back in her routine and the family is just happier! Sounds like I have to invest in your toddler book now!

    Thanks again!!!

My son is now 5. Thank you for saving our sleep all those years ago. Our little boy responded to your technique within 24 hours, and went from the dreadful baby to the dream baby!
I still insist on anyone I meet to try your techniques. They all have the same issue, and that is sleep!
It works It works It works!!!

    Hi Tizzie

just went out and bought you book for toddlers … wanted the hubby to see the video for this technique so he does it with our 19 month old boy who has recently started to slap and saying ‘Dont’ to just about everything. The link above is not working nor is the link in one of your messages. Anywhere else I can check and any advice on how on the issue.
